The Sacred Sacrament Miracle

In 1984, I went to visit my family in Rome, Italy. One day I went to the St. John Latarano Basilica. This was one of the churches I used to visit when I lived in Rome.

As I entered the Basilica, I began to take pictures. I especially wanted to take a picture of Jesus in the Chapel where the Holy Sacrament is exposed. But when I went there, Jesus was not exposed. He was already inside the tabernacle. I was disappointed, but I said to myself, "I will take the picture of the Holy Sacrament anyway."

I took the picture because I knew Jesus was inside the tabernacle in the Blessed Host. This gave me feelings of comfort and reassurance when I took the picture of Jesus inside of the tabernacle.

When I was a little girl, I  was in church with my mother. During mass my mother explained to me that  at the moment of the consecration the bread and wine transforms into the body and blood of Jesus at the altar. After mass, the Consecrated Host, Jesus, returns in the tabernacle. For the first time I came to know Jesus in the mystery of the Consecrated Host, and I believed. The way I believed then is the way I believed all my  life. That was the reason I took the picture; I believed just like a child that Jesus was there, and I wanted His picture.

"I say to you, whoever does not accept the kingdom of God as a little child will not enter it."  Luke 18:17

When I came back to the U.S., I developed the many pictures I took on my visit to Italy. I was very eager to see the particular chapel where I took the picture of Jesus inside the tabernacle. So, I expected to see the tabernacle, but instead I saw a round white light. All my other pictures came out great except for this one. I said to myself, "What does this mean?" I answered this by saying that this was a light which was a sign that meant something good. "I am the light of the world" (John 8:12).  Then I put my picture in my Bible.

Four years later, I went to Italy and took my Bible with me. One evening I was talking to my uncle and showed him my picture and shared my story with him. Without hesitation my uncle told me this round white light is the HOST! It never occurred to me  that this is the HOST. I always believed it was a white light which was a sign that meant something good.

A few days later, I went to the San Vittorino Church. It's the Shrine of Our Lady of Fatima. I shared  the story with the priest and showed  him the picture.  Then I asked him what he thought about  what my uncle told me.  The priest replied that this is not only the HOST but also the "Blood of Christ!" Sure enough, I looked closer at the picture with a magnifying glass, and I saw a dark red spot. To my surprise he was right!

This is a true story that happened to me which took me  four years to discover. I remember when I took the picture, I wanted to take a picture of the Sacred Sacrament, Jesus. Jesus read my thoughts and revealed himself in the simple picture. In doing so, He reveals himself to anybody who sees the picture and believes. I hope my story renews and reinforces people's love and adoration of the Holy Sacrament. Most of all let us be thankful for the gift Jesus gave to us at the First Mass which was the Last Supper.  Our Catholic  faith is based upon the institution of the Eucharistic.

And He took bread, and when He had given thanks He broke it and gave it to them, saying, "This is My body which is given for you." ... And likewise the cup after supper, saying, “This cup which is poured out for you is the new covenant in My blood."  (Luke 22: 19-20)

..............................................................................................................................

In 1998, I went back to Rome, Italy. Upon my stay, I went back to St. John Laterano Basilica so that I could take another picture in the same chapel as I had taken in 1984. Unfortunately, that chapel was being renovated, so I went to the next chapel over and with the same devotion to the Blessed Sacrament, took a picture of the altar and tabernacle because I knew the Holy Sacrament was  inside. To my amazement, when I had this picture developed, the photo did not show what I expected. The altar and tabernacle were completely covered by a bright while "Light" with emanating rays and pierced by a Cross and surrounded by Rosary beads. This is another Eucharistic Miracle. This picture is  definitely for the eyes of the beholder.
