If you are looking for a free, unofficial variation on the MBTI, I recommend http://www.typefocus.com.  Tell students to click on the "free assessment" link.  Encourage them to move through the test by going with the first answer that comes to mind (if they think about each question, their results will be compromised).  One of my favorite web sites for student research is http://www.personalitypage.com/ENFP.html which provides an overall personality analysis, career, relationship *and* personal growth information.
