The History of Coffee

Legend tells us around the year 575 A.D. a  sleepy goatherd noticed that his flock frolicked merrily while he drowsed. These playful beasts nibbled on cherry red beans growing on nearby bushes. The goatherd decided to try the beans too, and he soon began to frolic.  He went home and  told his charmed wife of the red berries. 

They shared the news with a priest  who threw the beans in the fire. As the priest lectured on temptations of the devil, a lovely aroma permeated the air and attracted other priests.  Thence, the priest decided that beans were not from the devil but fro God.  

They raked the darkened beans from the fire, ground them, poured hot water, and drank of the magical drink.  The priests remained awake all night and praised God.

 Years later coffee was declared to be devil's brew and banned in various placed.  

In 1600 Pope Clement "baptized" the drink making it acceptable for Christians to drink.

Coffee Joke

A man and his wife were having an argument about who
should brew the coffee each morning.

The wife said, "You should do it, because you get up
first, and then we don't have to wait as long to get
our coffee."

The husband said, " You are in charge of the cooking
around here and you should do it, because that is your
job, and I can just wait for my coffee."

Wife replies, "No you should do it, and besides it is
in the Bible that the man should do the coffee."

Husband replies, " I can't believe that, show me."

So she fetched the Bible, and opened the New Testament
