  1. Where do rules for morality come from?  Who makes them up?
  2. Who is the ruler: us as individuals or "Morality/ethics"?
  3. What would atheists say about rules of morality? do they come up with the "correct" laws?
  4. Is ethics/Morality something that we control or something that controls us?
  5. If either is true, how much influence can we provide that will ultimately decide who we are, where we go, and who we want to be?  Is it possible to alter human behavior for an adjustment of ethical situations?
  6. Is it possible to be moral for selfish reasons? Is it always wrong to act selfishly? is it ever good to act selfishly? Provide examples?
  7. What are the most important virtues a person can have?
  8. Sometimes we hear people say that we must 'be true to oneself."  Is this true?  Should one be true to self or to authority? Give examples.
  9. You know you will die in a month & decided to write your obituary to save your loved ones the trouble.  What are you the most proud of?  What has brought you happiness?
  10. How does one acquire pleasure? What is pleasure?
  11. Which do we want more - pleasure or self-respect? D we seek pleasure as a goal of life, but as a distraction or as entertainment?
  12. Describe a person  that you know who is happy?   What traits does this person have?  Compare your answer with your classmates & notice the similarities
  13. Who do you think is the happy person?
  14. Is a person who is morally good guaranteed some happiness in this world?
  15. Camus said, "A reason for dying is also a good reason for living.." Is he correct?  What do you find worth living for?  What is worth dying for? Are moral principles, ethics, worth dying for?
  16. Conservative  religious have asked WWJDrive?  Would he drive a gas guzzling SUV?  Many religions promote generosity.  is it possible to be filthy rich  and be religious? Is it [possible to not abstain from from material and bodily enjoyments and be religious?
  17. Are all humans at times selfish?   do we always act selfishly, even when we "appear" to be acting selflessly -   for example, when we donate money to a group that will publicize our name in the paper?
  18. What is the bottom line of most businesses? Is it profit? is it treating people fairly?
  19. Should be be moral & why? should we be moral when morality goes against our self-interest (like lying)?
  20. If you had to choose between being poor or rich, which would you choose?  Between being successful  or happy? 
  21. Solomon writes, " We are a nation ruled 'by laws, not men'" what does this say about our view of 'men'?
  22. Solomon asks, "Would it be possible for a person to be perfectly good and yet  cause harm to innocent people? could a person be wicked even if he or she  never caused any harm at all?
  23. Do you have a purpose? If so,  how did you come to acquire  this purpose?
  24. Socrates says "Know thyself."  is it possible to come to know oneself? Why.  can we truly know another
  25. Are you free to act as you are?  Can you rise above the conditioning of society and voices of your parents?  Can you assume full responsibility for your actions. if so why & if not why not?  Are you in control?  If not, who is in control of your life?
  26. Why might the ten commandments have been established as moral principles? Is it to make us happier or healthier? (Does lying, cheating, violating copyright laws in audio, video or print  ever work against your best interest?)
  27. Is it ever permissible to lie? Is there any justification  for lying?
